Facebook – Mobile Ads for App Developers
Recently, the famous social networking company ‘Facebook’ announced a new mobile ad product for App developers, which will help them to track and engage their audience. Facebook says that in the past month they have sent users to the Apple’s App store and Google play 146 million times due to the clicks from newsfeeds, bookmarks and the Facebook App Centre.
“Mobile ads are an additional way to drive people to apps,” said Facebook in a statement. “When a person clicks on one of these ads, if they do not have the app installed they will be sent to the App Store or Google Play to get it.”
In this product, you can create your campaign, and then monitor and launch it on the App Dashboard. Developers can also monitor their app performance. Facebook is working really hard to strengthen their mobile platform; earlier this year Facebook also launched its App store to sell their application through their own App store. According to Facebook sources, it will give an additional edge to the developer and create more opportunities to promote mobile ads.
It is specially designed for those users who use different applications through their Facebook connect feature, and from that developers can easily locate and gather information about the users interest.
“The App Centre is designed to grow mobile apps that use Facebook – whether they’re on iOS, Android or the mobile web,” said Brady on the Facebook developers’ blog. “From the mobile App Centre, users can browse apps that are compatible with their device, and if a mobile app requires installation, they will be sent to download the app from the App Store or Google Play.”
Initially a beta program is available for limited developers, every time when users click on the mobile ad, they are redirected to the App store on iOS or Google Play on Android to install the app. Facebook drove 146 million page views to mobile app stores over 30 days, Facebook developer VijayeRaji, says in a blog post. Those clicks came from Facebook’s news feed, timeline, bookmarks, and App Center.
According to the Facebook sources, 57% of Facebook users are from mobile, which is larger than its previous stats, before going public last year.
Each app has an expanded app detail page, which helps people see what makes an app unique and will allow them to install it. These detail pages will be required for listing in the App Centre, and pops up when users search for apps through Facebook.
