And this means that more and more users are turning towards tablets not only as an entertainment device, but as a way to access online retail easily and comfortably.

Given that many of us spend our days in front of computers and lap tops, you might think that most of us do our shopping from our desks too. But that’s not so. Computers and lap tops are work devices, and getting shoppers to shop whilst working is a tough nut to crack. Getting them to shop whilst they’re relaxing, on the other hand, is far easier. Kicking back for a little game time or casual surfing on a tablet is many people’s wind down time, and catching customers during this period is far more likely to convert to sales for you. And that means catching customers wherever they are during this time. Where are they? In bed, lounging on the couch, or, yes, even sitting on the toilet. Make your site browsable from the bathroom, and you’re reaching customers who are relaxed and more in the mood to shop, and with more time to shop too.

Whilst tablets have become more affordable, they are still somewhat of a luxury device, meaning tablet owners tend to have more disposable income to spend on online shopping. So not only are you getting people in the right frame of mind to spend money, but you’re also getting people that have the money to spend on your products.
Successful online retail is more than just putting your products out there for all to see. It’s about the psychology of shoppers, how and where they like to shop.
